I discovered Google Sketchup in early 2011 and the software changed my life!
Let me tell you a little bit about my self. I studied Quantity Surveying, Served my country in 2009 at a furniture manufacturing company Priestwood Furniture Limited, Abuja. It was during my service year that I really knew what I wanted to do with my life. All along, I was like the regular student that went to school, studied each course to pass and graduated with the regular colours so no need to fly. I was just taking each day at a time never wanted to think about the future.

I was just taking each day at a time never wanted to think about the future.
During my service year, I got interested in interior design, of course I had no choice as that was what I had to do for the whole service year. I started drawing kitchen and wardrobe cabinets on paper, then a colleague taught me how to use the basic AutoCad 2d.
With my small laptop, hp dv 6000, a birthday gift from my uncle. I started doing 2D designs. AutoCad could be frustrating especially if you have seen 3D churned out by other sisters softwares.

December 2010, I devoted my time to learning the AutoCad in to-to, I started drawing in isometric at least it looks like 3D to me!
All along, I have been checking and downloading various 3D drawings from the internet. Did I mention earlier that i had a great companion in my phone Nokia E63, coupled with free cheats from various network providers (had all the sim cards back in the day) I even created a blog, posting cheats and tweaks online ( that's a gist for another article)
On a certain Wednesday afternoon, as I was browsing, I searched for this keyword "interior design software download for free" on Google. And voila! Google Sketchup came out! The download option as well, but having low network reception I couldn't download the 350mb software. I knew right there that my free cheats won't be able to handle this, so I subscribed for a data bundle on a network provider.
Now, far back in 2010-2011, i could count the numbers of cities in Nigeria with 3G on this particular network provider. All i could get on my phone was Edge, this can't download 350mb! I had to take a bus to a particular location where they have stable 3G reception; remember this was early 2011. I climbed the uncompleted 4 story building, stopped at the 3rd floor and started download the software.

After about an hour, I finished downloading, my phone battery was so hot then it could boil noddles. I quickly rushed home transferred the software from my phone to my laptop and installed.
